Join the KidZONE team as we reach kids' hearts for Jesus and inspire them to be His world changers!
Whatever time you have to give, we encourage you to serve with your God given strengths and gifts: Weekly---Bi-Monthly---Quarterly

All KidZONE volunteers must have a completed background check on file. Click here to download the background check forms. Completed forms may be returned to the KidZONE ministry office or mailed to Wayside Chapel, 1705 NW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78213.

Areas to volunteer:

Nursery Serve quarterly during one worship service

  1. Hold and rock babies (under the age of two)
  2. Talk and interact with babies
  3. Play and read to babies
  4. Comfort babies
  5. Paid child care workers are in each nursery. Volunteers are not responsible for checking in/out, changing diapers and keeping the nursery clean

Preschool Shepherds Serve weekly or on a rotating team:

  1. Create an atmosphere of warmth and security
  2. Develop relationships with children while conveying God's love
  3. Reinforce Bible principles taught during the story rotation
  4. Guide children to "Praise and Prayer" room and participate in worship
  5. Guide children to "Bible Builder" room and encourage good listening
  6. Guide children to the playground and monitor for safety
  7. Lead children in group activities and/or craft making
  8. Oversee snack
  9. Activity/craft directions and supplies are provided in the classroom

Elementary Teachers, Team Teachers or Assistants (9:15) Serve weekly or on a rotating team:    

  1. Create a safe and accepting community for each child
  2. Teach weekly Bible lesson
  3. Guide children to a personal relationship with God
  4. Lead class activities
  5. All requested resources are provided

KIDMO Emcees (11:00) Serve once a month:

  1. Serve with a KidZone staff member
  2. Guide the children through the video driven curriculum
  3. Promote team participation, attention and energy throughout the class
  4. Encourage and build relations with the children
  5. Everything is planned and provided for emcees

Other areas of service:

  1. Preschool rotation leaders for worship and Bible
  2. Substitutes---you designate number of Sundays available to serve
  3. Assistants for KIDMO
  4. Craft team (prepares class supplies)
  5. Greeters
