Student Ministry Parents
Wayside Chapel Student ministry partners with parents to influence the next gen. We do not take "partnering with parents" lightly, in fact, we believe that it is ultimately the parent's responsibility to disciple their own children. God says in Deuteronomy 6:4-7 "Hear, O Israel: the LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."
God instructs parents to impress His truth on their children. This is God's will and the way He has set up the family to function which means you, as a parent, carry the responsibility to disciple your child.
In Student Ministry here at Wayside, we understand that at times this responsibility may feel overwhelming. That is why we are here. Not to take your place as the person God has commissioned to disciple your children, but to partner with you in that process.
We realize that every parent needs a "Second Voice" that is saying the same thing to their children. Every parent needs someone who will come alonside them and partner with them as they seek to disciple their children. We want to be that "Second Voice" that partners with you. We never want to become the primary voice in the mission to disciple your kids. That is your God given role.
